Pakistan To Launch Two Satellite This Year

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): Pakistan will launch its first indigenously developed communications satellite on August 14, 2011, from a facility in China and its life span will be 15 years.According to sources in Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), the satellite would be launched at a longitude of 38 degrees in geostationary orbit on the equatorial plane at an altitude of 36,000km above the earth’s surface.

Pakistan conducted a successful flight test of the indigenously developed air launched cruise missile, Hatf-8 on Friday. The nuclear-capable missile test was conducted as part of the continuous process of improving the technical parameters of the weapon system. The Ra’ad missile, with a range of over 350 km, has been developed exclusively for launch from aerial platforms.

RAWALPINDI: The US authorities describe top Pakistani intelligence service, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), as a terrorist organisation in secret files obtained by the Guardian. Recommendations to interrogators at Guantanamo Bay rank the ISI alongside al-Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah in Lebanon; being linked to any of these groups is an indication of terrorist or insurgent activity, the documents say.
