Three things have never happened before. Afghanistan has conceded over the weekend that anti-Pakistan terrorists and separatists have safe havens on its soil. India accepted last week it was feeding terror in Balochistan. And CIA drones have begun targeting the area of Baitullah Mehsud. The new CIA move is a result of Pakistani officials accusing some lobbies in Washington of protecting Mehsud for the past four years.

What we are seeing now is not everyone coming clean. What we are seeing is the result of nearly one year of quiet pressure from Pakistan on its allies in Washington. It started in a secret meeting in Rawalpindi in July 2008 where Admiral Mike Mullen and CIA number two Stephen Kappes were told that some CIA activities inside Pakistan contradicted stated US government policy. There is credible information that the Pakistani military handled this matter with the Americans through military channels after reluctance shown by President Zardari in confronting Washington, Kabul and New Delhi. In this sense, Prime Minister Gilani’s bold talk with his Indian counterpart on Balochistan last week was a break from his party line.

The strength of Pakistan’s position can be gauged from the fact not a single Indian official chose to contradict US top diplomat William Burns’ call to India to reduce the activities of its consulates in Afghanistan. Mr Burns reportedly shared some evidence Pakistan provided confirming that the Indian ‘consulates’ were little more than intelligence outposts for exporting terror to Pakistan’s tribal belt.

The credit for these new developments also goes to the new policy thinking within the Obama administration which apparently is questioning the entrenched lobbies in Washington responsible for some of the failed US military and intelligence adventures in the region.

Over the weekend, Iran’s state-run media has shown a televised confession by the brother of Abdulmalik Rigi, the leader of the Jundullah group that claims to be based in Pakistan. Islamabad helped Iran arrest the brother. “Abdulmalek and his group,” says the brother, “had a purpose to sow discord among Shia and Sunni on the orders received from the US. He said his brother “had held several confidential meetings with CIA agents in Karachi and Islamabad,” according to Iran’s PRESSTV.

This should help us understand who has turned the Afghan soil into a base for exporting terror to neighbouring countries, including China’s Xinjiang. The other thing this shows is that foreign governments or at least their spy agencies have created Pakistan-specific terror groups over the past five years as leverage against the perceived Pakistani support for the Afghan Taliban. In other words, the fake Pakistani Taliban and the various terror groups in Balochistan were a payback for us for our alleged support for the Afghan Taliban.

Pakistan needs to come clean on this for good. Pakistan cannot press a button to stop the Pashtun tribes of Afghanistan from attempts to sideline them and keep them out of power in Kabul. This problem has to be resolved inside Afghanistan. We should push for this because this is also upsetting Pakistan’s Pashtun and destabilising us. The US needs to rethink its support to Kabul’s warlords and individuals who have failed the American project in Afghanistan. Instead of trying to eliminate legitimate Afghan parties like the Taliban and Hekmetyar, it is better to bring them aboard.

The other thing is Kashmir. The anti-India actions there are not a Pakistani creation. They will continue, fester and invite reaction from Kashmiris and Pakistanis on Pakistani soil unless resolved.

It is better for the United States and India to resolve Afghanistan and Kashmir than to create proxies against Pakistan.

IN early June, Barack Obama emerged as the presumed nominee of the Democratic Party in the US presidential elections.

He was propelled to the top spot by his youthful, charismatic personality, his eloquence and, not least, the enthusiasm and passion he aroused among young college-educated voters, a phenomenon not seen since the days of John Kennedy in the early sixties.

Many were attracted by his refreshing optimism and the clear and sharp contrast he drew between his domestic as well as international policies and those pursued by President Bush for the past seven years. Obama promised to end the war in Iraq and bring American troops back home, and to seek a negotiated solution to the crisis with Iran. The superiority of his campaign organisation translated into unprecedented success in raising huge funds to support the fall election campaign. He raised at least $290m dollars, mostly from small donors and much of it through the Internet.

Having secured the nomination, which required the majority support of mostly liberal and progressive democrats, Obama now needs the vote of independent and moderate Americans — mostly conservative, highly patriotic and strongly religious who generally align with the Republican Party. Similarly, women and working-class white males were not enthusiastic about his candidacy in the primaries. In order to seek their support, he has to modify some of his positions that seemed to work so well in the primaries.

Traditionally, once they get their party’s nomination, candidates, whether on the right or left of the political spectrum, moder ate their message to broaden their base and attract the maximum number of voters at the general election. However, such moves have to be calibrated skilfully lest they give the impression that the candidate holds no core beliefs and can alter them conveniently. Four years ago, the Republicans were successful in characterising the Democratic candidate, Senator John Kerry, who opposed President Bush, as a flip-flopper without any bedrock convictions and willing to change his positions to suit the occasion. The Kerry campaign could not counteract the negative stereotyping of their candidate, and the charge stuck.

Similar charges are being currently levelled against Obama. Unlike his Republican opponent, McCain, who has been in politics for a long time, Obama is relatively new to national politics and the public is still struggling to define him and his policies. Despite his repeated denials, for example, some 15 per cent of the public continues to believe that he is a Muslim. He has recently come under attack for changing his positions on several issues. Initially, his signature subject was his opposition to the war in Iraq and his repeated pledge to withdraw forces from that country in 16 months.

In recent days he has nuanced his statement, adding that he would make the final determination about withdrawal after consultation with the military commanders in Iraq and his forthcoming visit to that country, giving himself some flexibility. In a recent op-ed article in The New York Times, however, he reaffirmed his pledge about his timetable for withdrawal. While the policies of the two candidates diverge in respect to Iraq, there is no major disagreement con cerning the Taliban and Al Qaeda insurgents in Afghanistan and the tribal areas of Pakistan. Obama will redeploy American resources from Iraq to Afghanistan, increasing troop strength by at least two combat brigades and, if necessary, send forces into Pakistan’s tribal areas to flush out the militants.

Few issues in America incite as much passion as the question of US support for Israel. No candidate can hope to win an election without the financial and electoral backing of the highly successful and influential Jewish community which tends to be strongly supportive of Israel. Some commentators have accused Obama of not being sufficiently committed to the security of the Jewish state, reducing his appeal to Jewish voters. To the embarrassment of his campaign staff, a Hamas official in Gaza issued a statement welcoming his candidacy. Obama at least partially addressed this problem in a speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a powerful pro-Israel lobbying group, in early June. He promised $30bn in aid to Israel and reassured the audience that Jerusalem would remain the undivided capital of Israel.

The speech, however, provoked a strong protest from the Palestinian Authority and other Arab countries, and the Obama campaign was subsequently obliged to clarify his stand on Jerusalem. They backtracked on his statement, explaining that whatever plan the Palestinians and Israelis agree to would also be acceptable to him.

Two other issues that have also caused problems for Obama relate to the reversal of his position on granting retroactive immunity to those telecommunication companies in America that had participated in wiretapping tele phone conversations of ordinary citizens in the aftermath of 9/11 to detect any terrorism-related activities. After initially opposing the immunity, he recently voted for it in the Senate along with 69 other senators.

Some of Obama’s liberal supporters characterised his vote as a repudiation of the principles enunciated early on in the campaign, but Obama defended his decision saying that the resolution had been modified and had become more acceptable to him. On a different issue, his need to entice evangelical Christians to vote for him appears to have diluted his dedication to the principle of separation of religion and the state, making his liberal supporters uneasy. Their disillusionment notwithstanding, it is unlikely that they vote for McCain.

There are nearly four months until the US presidential election in November, and the eventual winner cannot be predicted with confidence. Much will depend on what happens in the intervening period. The most recent Washington Post-ABC News poll shows Obama to be eight percentage points ahead of McCain among registered voters.

The country is currently going through a difficult phase, with the economy faltering, some financial institutions in danger of failing, and fuel prices and inflation both escalating. Worries about the economy and high energy costs have now replaced the Iraq war as areas of top concern. While McCain is credited with having a better knowledge of world affairs, it must be reassuring to the Democrats that a clear majority of the electorate believes that Obama is more qualified than McCain to deal with the acute economic problems the country is facing.

شرم الشیخ میں وزیراعظم پاکستان مخدوم گیلانی اور وزیراعظم بھارت من موہن سنگھ کی ملاقات پر بہت لکھا گیا ہے۔ مخدوم گیلانی نے پریس کانفرنس میں کہا ’’من موہن سنگھ اور صدر کرزئی نے کچھ باتیں شعر و شاعری میں کیں جن کا جواب ممتاز پارلیمنٹیرین دانشور ادیبہ بشریٰ رحمان نے شعر و شاعری میں دیا۔‘‘ مجھے بے قراری سی لگ گئی۔ بشریٰ رحمان نوائے وقت میں ہماری کولیگ کالم نگار ہیں۔ ان کے کالموں میں شعر و ادب کی خوشبو اڑتی پھرتی رہتی ہے۔ وہ پنجاب اسمبلی اور قومی اسمبلی میں بہت مزیدار اور معنی آفریں باتیں کرتی ہیں۔ جس پر انہیں بلبلِ پنجاب کا خطاب بھی ملا۔ شرم الشیخ میں مذاکرات کے لئے آتے ہی یہ مصرع من موہن سنگھ نے پڑھا۔ع
لمحوں نے خطا کی تھی صدیوں نے سزا پائی
اس مصرعے کو پاک بھارت معاملات کے حوالے سے دیکھا جائے تو بہت باتیں کھلتی ہیں۔ خطا بھی بھارتی قیادت سے ہوئی اور سزا بھی وہی دے رہے ہیں۔ اب اس کے ساتھ امریکہ اور اسرائیل بھی شامل ہو گئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے افغانستان کو پاکستان کے خلاف مورچہ بنا لیا ہے۔ پاکستان کے لئے کشمیر کو ایک سزا بنا دیا گیا ہے۔ مگر شہیدوں کا خون رائیگاں نہیں جائے گا۔ قربانی کی جزا تو ملتی ہے۔ اس میں دیر لگ سکتی ہے۔ سزا کا اطلاق تو فوراً ہوتا ہے۔ سقوط مشرقی پاکستان کارگل سیاچن اور اب پاکستان کا پانی روکنے کا دھڑکا ہمارے دل میں داخل کر دیا گیا ہے۔ مخدوم گیلانی نے جواب میں شعر پڑھا۔ اس طرح وہ شعر نجانے کیا بن گیا ہے مگر اتنا محسوس ہوا ہے کہ ہمارے حکمرانوں کو احساس ہے کہ ان سے غلطی بلکہ غلطیاں ہوئی ہیں۔ بھارت سے دوستی کی خواہش اور کوشش ہی وہ لغزش ہے جس کی سزا ہمیں بھارت دیتا چلا جا رہا ہے۔ بہرحال مخدوم گیلانی کی کسی قدر جرأت اظہار جرأت انکار کے قریب پہنچ گئی ہے۔ انہوں نے پاکستانیوں کے دل جیت لئے ہیں۔
لوگوں کو اتنی خوشی تو نہیں ہوئی جو بھارت سے کرکٹ میچ میں جیت کر ہوتی ہے۔ بھارت کے ساتھ میچ ہار جیت کے فیصلے کے بغیر ختم ہو جائے تو خوشی ہوتی ہے نہ رنج۔ بھارتی حکمرانوں سے ہمارے حکمرانوں کے مذاکرات بھی کسی فیصلے کے بغیر ختم ہو جاتے ہیں۔ البتہ شرم الشیخ میں مخدوم گیلانی سے من موہن سنگھ کی ملاقات اس ملاقات سے ہزار درجے بہتر ہے جو روس میں صدر زرداری اور من موہن سنگھ کے درمیان ہوئی۔ آئندہ بھارتی قیادت سے مخدوم گیلانی ملاقات اور مذاکرات کرنے جایا کریں۔ صدر زرداری امریکہ‘ یورپ اور فرینڈز آف پاکستان کے ساتھ بات کریں۔ انہیں یہی بات آتی ہے۔ اس بات کی تشریح کی ضرورت نہیں۔ تسی سمجھ گئے ہوو گے۔ (آپ سمجھ گئے ہونگے)۔ ’’صدر زرداری زندہ باد‘‘ بھارتی وزیراعظم من موہن سنگھ سے مذاکرات کے بعد مخدوم گیلانی پاکستان آئے ہیں تو ان کی پذیرائی سے صدر زرداری کو احساس کرنا چاہئے کہ بھارت کے ساتھ دلیری سے بات کرنے میں کتنی عزت ہے؟ مخدوم گیلانی والا شعر پیش خدمت ہے؎
سہارا چاہئے تھا سنبھلنے کے لئے
لغزش ہوئی پر دوستوں نے سہارا نہ دیا
یہ شعر جس طرح میں نے سنا ہے۔ پیش کر دیا ہے۔ اب مخدوم گیلانی خود سنبھل چکے ہیں لہٰذا دوستوں کی نشاندہی کرنا اچھا نہیں لگتا۔ یہ بات ضرور ہے کہ بھارت کی دوستی اور بھارت کے پاکستانی دوستوں پر اعتماد کرنا سب سے بڑی لغزش ہے۔ اس موقع پر بشریٰ رحمان نے جو شعر پڑھا۔ وہ زیادہ بامعنی اور معنی خیز ہے۔
وہ اور ہونگے جنہیں دشمنوں سے شکوہ ہے
ہمیں تو دوست ہمارے فریب دیتے ہیں
اتنے میں صدر کرزئی بھی آ گئے اور ایسا سوال کیا جس کا جواب ان کے دل میں کسی عادی چور کی طرح ڈرا ہوا موجود ہے۔ وہ خود کہتے ہیں کہ میں پاکستان کا مہمان رہا ہوں۔ انہوں نے ہماری مہمان نوازی کا ظالمانہ مذاق اڑایا ہے۔ مگر وہ آجکل امریکہ کا مہمان ہے اور امریکہ اپنے مہمان دوستوں کا جو حال کرتا ہے وہ من موہن سنگھ کا ہونے والا ہے۔ امریکہ کی دوستی کا حال وہی ہے جو کسی ہمسائے نے دوسرے کی گائے کے حوالے سے اس کے ساتھ کیا تھا۔ اس کی گائے بیمار ہوئی۔ ہمسائے نے اُسے کوئی تیر بہدف گولی دی۔ گائے مر گئی تو اس کے ہمسائے نے گلہ کیا۔ تو یہ جواب آیا کہ میری گائے بھی تو مر گئی تھی۔ یہ دھیان میں رہے کہ گائے ہندوئوں کے لئے مقدس دیوتا ہے اور من موہن سنگھ ہندو نہیں ہیں۔ لوک سبھا میں اپوزیشن لیڈر ایل کے ایڈوانی نے من موہن سنگھ کو بے حال کر دیا اور کہا کہ وہ پہلا وزیراعظم ہے جس نے پاکستان کے آگے گھٹنے ٹیک دئیے ہیں۔ وہ امریکہ کی غلامی کو بھی آزادی کی طرح سمجھنے لگا ہے بھارت کے ساتھ جو پاکستان نہیں کر سکا۔ وہ امریکہ کر دے گا امریکہ دشمنوں کے سامنے نہیں آتا اور دوستوں کو دنیا کے سامنے اتنا ذلیل و خوار کرتا ہے کہ وہ ذلت اور خواری کے عادی ہو جاتے ہیں۔ نہ انہیں شرم آتی ہے نہ غیرت آتی ہے۔ وہ قومی نفع نقصان سے بھی غافل ہو جاتے ہیں۔ قومی مفادات ذاتی مفادات کے مقابلے میں ہمیشہ کے لئے بھول جاتے ہیں۔ بھارت کے کسی اخبار میں ایک کارٹون چھپا ہے جس میں من موہن سنگھ منہ لٹکائے کھڑے ہیں اور نیچے لکھا ہے۔ ان کے بارہ بجے ہوئے ہیں۔ ایل کے ایڈوانی نے اپنے وزیراعظم کے خلاف باتیں کیں جو ہمارے وزیراعظم کے حق میں چلی گئیں۔ ورنہ کوئی ہندو سیاستدان کسی پاکستانی وزیراعظم کی تعریف کیوں کرے گا۔ البتہ وہ سابق صدر مشرف اور صدر زرداری کی بہت تعریف کرتے ہیں۔ ممبئی حملوں کے بعد صدر زرداری حکومت بھارت کے تھلے لگی ہوئی ہے۔ وزیراعظم مخدوم گیلانی نے پہلی بار ذرا دلیری کے ساتھ بات کی ہے۔
پاکستان میں انہیں ایک فاتح کے روپ میں دیکھا جا رہا ہے۔ جنرل حمید گل نے کہا ہے کہ ’’ہمیں اس ملاقات میں نہ فائدہ ہوا ہے نہ نقصان ہوا ہے۔ البتہ بھارت کو بہت نقصان ہوا ہے۔‘‘ یہی تو ہمارا فائدہ ہے۔ اس کا مطلب ہے کہ یہ ملاقات اچھی رہی۔ اگر یہ بات نہیں تو لوک سبھا سے اپوزیشن لیڈر ایڈوانی نے واک آئوٹ کیوں کیا۔ انہیں زبردست تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا گیا اور بھارت کا شوکت عزیز کہا گیا۔ کچھ مماثلت تو ہے مگر من موہن سنگھ شوکت عزیز سے ہزار درجے بہتر ہیں۔ مخدوم گیلانی کے لئے محبت بھرے جذبات کے ساتھ ساتھ من موہن سنگھ کے لئے بھی ہمیں نرم گوشہ دل میں رکھنا چاہئے شکر ہے وہ ہندو سیاستدان نہیں۔ اس کی ہمت ہے کہ پاکستان کے جائز موقف کے جرأت مندانہ اظہار پر روایتی ہندوانہ رعونت اور نفرت سے جواب نہیں دیا۔ یہی وہ رویہ ہے جس کے ذریعے پاک بھارت معاملات کو نبٹایا جا سکتا ہے۔ کہتے ہیں کہ کشمیر کا ذکر نہیں مگر تمام حل طلب ایشوز پر بات چیت پر اتفاق ہوا ہے۔ ساری دنیا جانتی ہے کہ حل طلب مسائل میں کشمیر پہلے نمبر پر ہے۔ بلوچستان میں بھارتی مداخلت کے ثبوت پر من موہن سنگھ نے منہ نہیں بنایا۔ اب یہ معاملہ ممبئی حملوں کی طرح پوری طرح دنیا اور امریکہ کے سامنے بھی لایا جائے۔
ایک پاکستانی صحافی نے مخدوم گیلانی کی پذیرائی کو ’’شوشہ‘‘ قرار دیا ہے۔ اور من موہن سنگھ کی نسبت سے ایک سردار صاحب کا لطیفہ بیان کیا ہے۔ سردار صاحب اپنی بہن کو سکوٹر پر بٹھا کر جا رہے تھے۔ سامنے سے کسی نے کہا کہ سردار جی آجکل بڑی عیش کر رہے ہو۔ سردار نے کہا کہ یہ سب گورو جی کی مہربانی ہے۔ بہن نے اعتراض کیا تو اس نے کہا کہ بہن جی تیرا کیا جاتا ہے اپنی شو۔ شا ہو رہی ہے۔ محترم صحافی کی خدمت میں یہی لطیفہ ایک اور انداز میں پیش ہے۔ سردار سے کہا گیا کہ بڑی معشوق ساتھ بٹھائی ہوئی ہے۔ سردار نے کہا کہ اوئے معشوق ہوئے گی تیری۔ میری تو بہن ہے۔ آخر میں صدر کرزئی کا سوال یاد آیا ہے کہ یہ طالبان کون ہیں۔ بشریٰ رحمان کا جواب لاجواب کرنے کی معرکہ آرائی تھی۔ وہ ان طالبان ک پوچھ رہے ہیں جن کی سرپرستی ان کے ملک سے ہوتی ہے۔

فیس نہ دیں اور مشورہ دیں؟ وہ بھی کسی عالمی سطح کے ماہر قانونیات کو؟ بہت بھاری گستاخی ہے یہ تو۔ مگر کیا کریں اتنی بھاری فیس ہمارے پاس ہے نہیں۔ ہم جو عوام ہیں چودھری اعتزاز احسن کے قائد جمہوریت آصف علی زرداری کے‘ ہم چودھری اعتزاز احسن کی سطح کی فیس کہاں سے لائیں؟ بہت بھاری مجبوری آن پڑی ہے۔ فیس ہے نہیں اس کے بغیر وہ ہمارا مشورہ قبول کر کے اپنے پیشہ اور مقام و مرتبہ کی توہین کر نہیں سکتے اور وردی شاہ کے کشکول چور شوکت عزیز کو کسی عدالت میں لانا بہت ضروری دکھائی دینے لگا ہے۔ خاص طور پر اس وقت سے جب سے ہم نے چودھری صاحب کی زبان سے اس کشکول چور کے جرائم کی تفصیل سنی ہے۔ مشورہ نہیں تو کیا درخواست چل جائے گی؟ چلو دیکھ لیتے ہیں چودھری صاحب کی عدالت قانونیات میں درخواست پیش کر کے کہ چودھری جی آپ ان کے جرائم سے اتنے شدید آگاہ ہیں آپ کی مہارت قانونیات کی چار دانگ عالم میں شہرت دوام ہے ہم پر مہربانی کریں اور اس کشکول چور کو کسی عدالت میں تو لائیں۔ کونسی عدالت میں؟ یہ فیصلہ آپ نے اپنی مہارت کی روشنی میں کرنا ہے کہ سپریم کورٹ میں لایا جا سکتا یا قوم کی پارلیمنٹ کی کسی کمیٹی کے روبرو اس کشکول چور پر اتنے شدید نوعیت کے قومی جرائم کا کیس دائر کیا جا سکتا ہے یہ بھی آپ خوب جانتے ہوں گے۔ ہماری تو یہی درخواست ہے کہ لائیں تو اس ہمارے کشکول چور کو کسی عدالت میں ہمیں تو اب پھیلانے کے لئے بھی کوئی باعزت قسم کا کشکول نہیں مل رہا۔ دیکھ نہیں رہے آپ اپنے پارٹی قائد اور ان کے کشکول بردار کی مشکلات؟ ہمارے مصائب اور مشکلات کا نہیں تو کم از کم اپنے پارٹی مالک و مختار کا ہی کچھ خیال کریں ان سے وفا ہی دکھائیں وہ خود اور اُن کے وزراء کی فوج ظفر موج دن رات چیخ و پکار کرتی پھر رہی ہے کہ ہم بے بس اور بے کس عوام کے ہر قسم کے مصائب میں ان کا اور ان کا کوئی ہاتھ پائوں ہرگز نہیں۔ ان کا صرف اقتدار ہی ہے۔ مصائب اور مشکلات سب انہیں وردی شاہ ورثہ میں دے گئے ہیں اور وردی شاہ کے اپنے مصائب کے ذمہ دار آپ خود بتا رہے تھے کہ وہ کشکول چور تھے آپ نے خود بتایا ہے کہ عدل و انصاف کے علمبرداروں کو اور ان کے بیوی بچوں کو جس عذاب سے گزرنا پڑا تھا اس کے اصل ذمہ دار وہ کشکول چور ہی تھے آپ نے خود تسلیم کیا ہے کہ آپ نے قومی اسمبلی کے فلور پر ان کشکول چور کے خلاف ایک ایف آئی آر کا ذکر کر دیا اور وہ حفاظتی آپریشن کی تیاریوں میں لگ گئے تھے وہ ایف آئی آر اور اس کے نتیجے میں ہوئے آپریشن کے سب ثبوت بھی آپ کے پاس ہیں اس آپریشن کے نتیجے میں اہل عدل و انصاف کو ان کے بیوی بچوں کو اور ملک کی کالاکوٹ برادری کو جس عذاب سے گزرنا پڑا تھا اس سے آپ سے زیادہ کون واقف ہے؟ ڈاکٹر شیرافگن؟ اس عدلیہ اور اس کی آزادی کے خلاف اس آپریشن میں کتنے بے گناہ لوگ مارے گئے تھے؟ کالاکوٹ برادری کے لوگ اور عام لوگ اتنے لوگ مارے جائیں اور اس کے ذمہ دار قاتل کے خلاف کوئی کیس ہی دائر نہ کیا جائے؟ ہم یہ تو نہیں کہہ سکتے کہ اس کیس کی پیروی کرنا اور اس مجرم کو جیل بھجوانا آپ کی اخلاقی اور قانونی ذمہ داری بنتی ہے لیکن ہم یہ تو کہہ ہی سکتے ہیں کہ ہم عوام تو اسے اپنی اخلاقی اور انسانی ذمہ داری سمجھتے ہیں ہم اپنی اسی ذمہ داری کو پورا کرنے کے لئے آپ کی عدالت قانونیات میں درخواست گزارنے پر مجبور ہو رہے ہیں کہ اس کے جرم عظیم سے جتنے آپ اپنے کو آگاہ بتا رہے تھے کوئی اور اتنا آگاہ نہیں تھا خود وردی شاہ بھی نہیں۔ بقول آپ ہی کے۔ آپ نے وہ کیس لڑا بھی تھا اور جیتا بھی۔ بلا فیس؟ آپ نے اس تحریک آزادی عدلیہ کے دوران مسلسل چھبیس چھبیس گھنٹے ڈرائیونگ کی تھی۔ بلا سوئے؟ آپ کو وزارت عظمٰی کی پیشکش کی گئی تھی۔ بلا مانگے۔ اور آپ نے اسے بھی مسترد کر دیا تھا۔ ہے کوئی ایسی مثال پورے گجرات ڈویژن میں اور؟ آپ کے غم خوار عزیز طارق عزیز نے بقول آپ ہی کے آپ کو آپ کی جان کے خطرہ سے بھی خبردار کیا تھا۔ بلا پوچھے۔ اس سب کچھ کے باوجود آپ اس تحریک کی ڈرائیونگ سیٹ سے الگ نہیں ہوئے تھے ان جملہ پہلوئوں کو سامنے رکھیں تو اس کشکول چور مجرم کو کسی عدالت میں لانے اور اس کے جرائم کی سزا دلانے کے لئے ہمیں آپ ہی سرکڈھ ماہر قانونیات دکھائی دے رہے ہیں آپ اندر باہر کے سارے حقائق سے آگاہ بھی ہیں اور وہی طارق عزیز اس کیس کی تیاری میں بھی آپ ہی کی مدد کر سکتے ہیں کہ کسی اور ماہر قانونیات کے وہ اتنے قریب اور عزیز نہیں دکھتے۔ اس ہمارے قومی مجرم کے ان جرائم کے علاوہ بھی بہت سے بہت بھاری بھاری جرائم ہیں کیا چودھری شجاعت حسین سے وزارت عظمٰی چھین لینا جرم نہیں تھا؟ سٹیل ملز کی لوٹ سیل لگانے کے علاوہ اس نے کوئی اور قومی ادارہ لوٹ کے بھائو بیچا نہیں تھا؟ حبیب بینک کا کیس تو خود چیف جسٹس آف پاکستان بتا چکے ہیں کہ وہ اپنے عدل و انصاف کے ترازو میں تولنے جا رہے تھے کہ پی سی او کا گنڈاسا چل گیا تھا۔ سٹاک ایکسچینج کا کیس ہے اور اپنے کو وزیراعظم بنوانے والے چچا سام کے مفادات کے تحفظ اور توسیع کا کیس ہے۔ ان کے جرائم کی نوعیت اور شدت کا اسی سے اندازہ کیا جا سکتا ہے کہ وہ اس ملک کی زمین کا رخ کرنے سے اتنے ہی خوفزدہ دکھائی دیتے ہیں جتنے امریکہ اور یورپ کے سب باسی اسامہ بن لادن سے خوفزدہ رہتے ہیں۔ اتنا بڑا مجرم اس ملک اور قوم کا اور اس ملک میں کوئی ایک بھی بندہ کوئی ایک بھی ادارہ اسے کٹہرے میں لانے کو تیار نہ ہو؟ خوف کس کا ہے؟ مگر چھوڑیں باقیوں کو ہو گا کوئی خوف آپ کو تو نہ بارک حسین اوباما کا کوئی خوف ہے نہ بانکی مون کو آپ کبھی خاطر میں لائے ہیں عدلیہ کی آزادی کا علم اٹھائیں اور قدم بڑھائیں۔ آپ کو اس تحریک میں بھی بہت سے جانثار مل جائیں گے اپنے پارٹی مالک اور ہمارے صدر مکرم کو اس تحریک کے فوائد سے آگاہ کریں وہ بھی آپ کو ہماری درخواست قبول کر لینے کی اجازت دے دیں گے۔ کریں ہمت اور ہمدردی ہم عوام اور ان کے ملک کے لئے بھی۔ اُمید ہے کہ آپ حسبِ عادت فیس کا صدقہ خیرات کر کے ہمارا بھی ساتھ دیں گے۔
